Our practice has been providing comprehensive pediatric and adult eye care for over 30 years. The Virginia Pediatric Eye Center was opened in 1976 by Dr. Earl Crouch, Jr. after he completed a fellowship in pediatric and adult strabismus, and the practice became affiliated with Eastern Virginia Medical School in the same year. Dr. Eric Crouch joined the practice in 2004 after completing an ophthalmology residency and fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. At the Virginia Pediatric Eye Center, we provide comprehensive care for pediatric eye health. We are dedicated to treating visual development problems and evaluating problems with vision, depth perception, and alignment. To provide our patients with the most advanced treatment options, we have been and continue to be involved in multiple research projects.
Our staff and physicians are actively involved in providing ophthalmic care in our community and abroad. Our physicians volunteer annually at the Homeless Outreach Program. This service provides valuable screening examinations for amblyopia, strabismus, glaucoma, and cataracts and provides care for the homeless people in our area. Foreign Outreach Our physicians and staff have served on numerous foreign medical projects to Mexico, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. On these trips we provide free eye exams, glasses, surgeries, and other medical care to people with limited access to health care. On average we see about 600-1000 patients per day and perform over 40 surgeries per week on these trips. If you are interested in seeing images of our most recent trip please follow the link below. |
